S4:E4 The One Where We Meet a Person Who Has Been Taught for 20 Years

早安!

How has it been going?! First I would like to ask everyone if they have been to the temple recently because DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON??? That session was straight up FIRE 🔥 I have never felt so close to God. Definitely recommend a visit to the temple because it's sooo good!

首先。。。A small miracle share from this week: we planned to go to North Point to go finding and almost everyone was old. Which isn't a bad thing but we would really love to teach younger people as they know how to speak English and it helps a lot! As we were about to leave the harbor, I was prompted to stop and say hi to this cute lady and start speaking in Mandarin. (PS, I usually greet people by saying leih hou or chou saahn but at that time I was prompted to speak in Mandarin and say ni hao!) As we did, she replied so happily and then asked us to sit down!!! THAT BARELY HAPPENS GUYS :) she talked to us and was so patient with our language and we were able to build a good relationship with her. She said we should come back to the harbor with her so we can practice our Mandarin. She was the cutest little lady ever! Small miracles. God puts so much patient people in our paths and help us practice our Mandarin.

接下来。。。 we met our friend Emma at a Malaysian restaurant. She's from Mainland but has been in Hong Kong for so long and met the missionaries because of an "English Class" sign. She started meeting with the missionaries and she shared how she discovered how we could pray anywhere at anytime through the missionaries. She shared to us how prayer has helped her so much and that God is like her best friend, she talks to Him when none of her friends can listen. She also says she feels bad how others don't know they can pray anytime anywhere which is why she shared about prayer with her friends too! We told her about the Book of Mormon and shared it with her and she was so excited about it!!! She said she really wanted a copy so PLS PRAY WE CAN MEET AGAIN. She is GOLDEN 💅

最后。。。last night sister Brady and I agreed on giving one last final call to this lady named Angel Guo. She has been taught by the missionaries since 2004. (wow I was a year old when she met them!) We carefully thought about how she has been taught for so long and no progress has been made. She knows the church is true, the Book of Mormon is true and everything else but doesn't want to get baptized because she doesn't want to get interviewed nor doesn't want to quit coffee/tea but she loves meeting with missionaries. We decided to give her a little discussion about how our time in HK is so precious and she already had the chance to accept the gospel for probably so many times. We felt the Spirit so strongly during that lesson but still there are many things holding her back. That lesson made me so grateful for sister Brady too! She is such a powerful missionary. Angel Guo kept saying that missionaries always ask her to get baptized and we explained how important it is. We told her that this isn't our invitation but it was Christ's. I learned so much from that lesson and it's so sad that it has been over 20 years of missionary lessons but no action. It's so hard to drop her and stop meeting but it's about time! Missionary work is so great. You develop so much love instantly for people you barely met.
