Hey everyone!
How has your week been? Any updates from home or any interesting story that happened this week?
♡
Our friend Camille is progressing well, before we even invited her to
church she already texted and asked if the meeting was at 10 am. So nice
that she's making these decisions on her own now. We got to teach her
the Restoration yesterday together with one of the recent converts and
the friend of the other sisters working in the same branch. It's nice
how they really have wonderful questions. Camille is still interested in
getting baptized but thinks that 3 weeks is too quick for her to be
taught everything. We learned yesterday that she was part of a communist
party and when she said that we knew that it was going to be hard for
us to get her baptized because I think there are some rules you have to
follow like being neutral when it comes to religion. So we'll see how it
goes! Yesterday she was asking us about what a "broken heart and
contrite spirit" is. It's so cool to see how the Spirit is working in
her life and that she's trying to understand things so she can really
know for herself if there's a God and if everything we're teaching her
is true.
♡ On Saturday,
we went to HKU to go finding and we were so tired to even go finding. We
were about to go home already but I told my trainer that we should wait
for one of the girls to come back and then when she came back we were
talking to her and she said she was from Yemen. It was so cool and she
was nice! Her name is Win. Then at night time my trainer was prompted to
get boba with her and we did. We got to know her a little bit more and
she even invited us to join a service project with a Christian group on
campus. While waiting for Win, we met this cute lady. A simple wave we
gave her led to a super fun story. After we both waved at her, she asked
us if we were Christian. Then she started talking to us and I think she
was just shocked that we knew how to speak Mandarin. Then she told us
to wait for her at the spot we were staying cause she was going to give
us bags like hers. It was so fun and random.
Simple
acts of kindness like waving at someone, saying good morning to them,
complimenting their outfits can lead to a really great friendship or a
fun experience. It's a very happy feeling when we help make someone's
day feel better and brighter! I know that if we share the light of
Christ with those around us, they will feel and see that light and
kindness that you have. Simple acts of kindness are a powerful testimony
that you can share with others.
How did your week go?! I would love to know and listen! I'm just an email away
